Facebook is rumored to be building a complex server their first outside North America. Server complex is located in LuleƄ, a city in northern Sweden which is 97 kilometers from the Arctic-circle.
In the complex area of the server with the equivalent of 11 football fields wide it will have three buildings that will accommodate up servers. Extra cold temperatures in the area near the north pole is used to keep the temperature up servers and supporting equipment remains at normal conditions. As a source of electrical power, utilizing river located in the city of LuleƄ to be the center of hydroelectric power (hydropower).
Swedish local newspaper mentions the construction of complex buildings Facebook server will be completed in 2012. Concerning the complex development of this new server, representatives of Facebook is not willing to comment.
